| so for those of you who still read this, here's an update on my life so far.
i can't believe that im a junior already. that means being an upperclassman...scary thought. im only taking 4 classes this semester, all of which i really enjoy. im also interning at congress for a representative from PA. that takes up 15 hours of my week. i just started yesterday. basically, the interns do bitch work. but i figured since its election season, it'll be more interesting. we get these cool official looking IDs to get into the building so you feel all important. on top of legislative and administrative duties, we also have to give tours of the capitol building for constituents who come and visit. my training for that is tomorrow.
that's pretty much my life in a nutshell right now.

| harvard is the second richest institution in the world. the first is the roman catholic church.
harvard students can also rent artwork from the fogg museum for $35 a semester. they can display real picassos and such only if they promise to not throw any parties. if you break, you buy.
O.O

| i've realized that i stop being productive at work after 2pm.
problem: i have 3 more hours until end of day.
what do to?
::edit:: lucy liu is in harper's bazaar this month with an olympic themed photoshoot. she actually looks really good in some pictures. however, this one photo caught my eye because of the dress. its christian lacroix haute couture! i saw this in person and have pictures of this when i visited the store in paris. this was one of my favorites.

| i am extremely bored at work. my boss is always traveling and i barely see him. hence, i don't really know what to do with myself. i've realized that i need someone to constantly give me work and tell me what to do. if you leave me to do work independently, i fail at it -_- im a horrible employee.
i can't wait for the olympics! ahh i have so much chinese pride.
michael phelps' wingspan is 6'7". that's ridiculous.

| my first week at work is over. i basically have two projects that im working on.
1. there was a study done by CATIE (don't remember what it stood for) on schizophrenia comparing different drugs. they use this thing called quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) that they get from PANSS scores. but it doesn't really make sense and my boss doesn't think the conclusions match up. so my job is to find out more about QALYs and figure how they are measured. in the end, i have to come up with a report O.O
2. the percentage of GDP spent on total health care has increased a lot from 1986 to 2003. however, the percentage spent on mental health barely changed. so i have to track the trend and see how different components of health care spending have changed.
i basically just sit at my desk reading while also talking to people on gchat. but shhhh, don't tell anyone =P i also have my own harvard medical school email. i feel so special now hehe.
